Hi, I’m Steve!
I was born in Denmark to a Danish father and a British mother, so I grew up with two languages and two cultures from the very beginning. Before moving into teaching, I worked as a logistics officer for Save the Children and the Red Cross—roles that allowed me to travel widely and work in diverse environments. These days, I live in Thailand with my Thai wife. Outside of teaching, I enjoy working out, swimming, reading novels, and helping my wife take care of her plants.
I bring 20 years of teaching experience to the classroom and hold a Master of Science in International Development Studies and Geography (both human and physical geography). In addition to English, I’ve also taught history, social science, and geography. My teaching style reflects my academic background: I’m relaxed and approachable, yet highly focused and committed to helping my students succeed.
I often incorporate science topics, news clips, and critical-thinking exercises into my lessons to make learning more engaging and relevant. I aim to create dynamic, lively classes using a variety of tools, such as:
- Video clips
- Short stories
- Listening exercises
- Role plays
- Test preparation strategies
- Phonetics tips
- Lots and lots of conversation
Ultimately, my teaching is centered around you. Tell me what you need and where you want to go, and I’ll do everything I can to help you get there.
Let’s make learning enjoyable, practical, and effective!
